Born in Devon, Wendy grew up in London and has lived in Oxford, Prague and Melbourne before settling in Kent four years ago with her family. Wendy is a trained nurse and has worked in paediatrics and community settings, however, returned to university when in Melbourne and studied Textile Design at RMIT where she specialised in printmaking and surface pattern design. Wendy has since worked with Myers and Cap Gemini and developed her own label, Little Scribblers.
Recently, Wendy’s work has taken a new direction where she has experimented with alcohol inks, cut paper and textile forms, where she creates machine and hand sewn feathers and bowls. Wendy has participated in South East Open studios for the last two years and has taken commissions. Wendy is now pursuing a full-time career in design and has recently launched Wendy Frances Designs where she takes inspiration from hidden gems in everyday life to create beautiful surface patterns, textile and mixed media pieces.
